As Everett (Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?) would say:
“What we have here is an epistemological oddity. You don’t know anything about your subject, but you can talk for hours and hours, knowing exactly what you are talking about.”
To put it cosmologically, the more you know about the universe, the more you understand your limitations to knowing anything.
It must be intimidating when you have a classroom filled with young'uns. They look to you as the teacher. You instinctively look around for your teacher only to find you're alone with your lesson plan to get you through.
