Have I told you about Professor P.J. Cornucopia's Fantastic Foodmagorium and Great American Steakery?* It is a collection of several short, whitty stories and anecdotes. When the Professor was in secondary school, he wrote a number of award-winning columns, articles, essays, polemics, novellettes, penny dreadfuls, pamplets, folletins, chronicles, op ed pieces, angry threatening diatribes, uplifting and heart-warming sermons, and a series of tawdry, low-brow, ribald one-act plays, which were immediately burned by the Kearns Chapter of the Neo-Spanish Inquisition. He was quite prolific as a child, unfortunately much of what he wrote was lost in the Great Fire of 67 - sixty-seven being the number of houses involved and not the year - and only a few items - the award-winning items - have been preserved. In recent months, the Professor has resurfaced and has resurrected his writing and publishing after suffering years of grueling torture, otherwise known as actuarial exams.
My favorite pieces, so far, are the following:
On another note, I have in my possession several manuscripts of early drafts of Kerncrog and The Fart Heard Around the World. Perhaps I will scan these in the near future for all the world to behold.
